So I probably won't use it much, at least not anytime soon.

It was kinda like chatmm, just without PMs and it was viewable by anyone that landed on the root of the forum. kinda cool actually. And you say this was free? I'm guessing the charged aspect of chatmm is the PM functionality?

Really boils down to the nice developer who made it (it's currently one of the most popular addons for this forum software) versus the company who makes the forum software, who also makes the Chat(MM) room addon.
