does anyone remember the original namings of the four tracks? i know peel renamed them on his show because the names were not on the tapes. i remember warp had the original names up on their page for awhile before rob and sean went with the names peel used on his show...these later became the official names of the tracks.

i guess if anyone here knows the answer to my last question they might also be able to provide me with that Q+A's session autechre did on the warp web-page many years ago. they answered lots of fans question that were submitted to warp around 1999 (give or take a year). the question i asked at the time was who's their favourite director and they answered with rutherford. that was before gantz graf. would like to see those questions again.

Just bought this, I never heard these tracks before. I like Gelk the most so far, because it actually has a melody in it that makes sense. Like the second track as well, with the nice beat.

Its just called Peel Session 2 not "Peel Session Vol. 2". You must be confusing it with the Kill Bill films.

So the urban legend goes, Ae accidentally submitted the DAT (or MD or whatever) to BBC Radio 1 without track titles, so John Peel ad-libbed names on the spot. Shortly before the official Warp release, this tidbit was revealed on a news & info page, along with the original (official) track titles. However, it seems Sean & Rob subsequently decided they liked the idea of a John Peel christening for their tracks and officially renamed them as he did for the actual release. The info page including the original titles was not online for very long, but I took notes.

For the interested, the tracks are titled as follows, with Ae's actual titles in parentheses:

01 Gelk (Czr)

02 Blifil (Cdown)

03 Gaekwad (Sqrmap)

04 19 Headaches (Pantium Chromdioxid)

Blifil sounds amazingly good through headphones, that's why I bought this record; I was in a record store in Amsterdam and found this cd, couldn't make up anything from the cover, so I gave it a listen with the headphones over there. Blifil stood out to me because it's awesome especially with closed headphones I think.
