Joy! Care Germ Germ is the transliterated name of a 1962 Japanese film that was a thinly veiled public safety announcement on hygiene. In it, Hiroyuki, a slobbish loner who tries and fails to attract ladies, fails to wash his hands before eating yakitori that was tainted with radiation from US nuclear testing. As a result, the germs on his hands transform him into a giant blob of human/germ flesh substrate that is only stopped from destroying Tokyo when Yasuko, a girl he spent the first half of the movie lusting over, does a song and dance routine about proper hygiene practices and promises to go on a date with him.

It was known in the states as The Vengeful Hands, a low budget adaptation put out by Sandy Frank.
