Great new album from this Bristolian. Hardly any dubstep here anymore, plenty of deep housey grooves, acid and deep basslines. Stand-out track after first listen is "stenaline metranil solar flare" (Yes, some awesome track titles) which builds and builds synths and snares in an almost autechre-like fashion.

This album is as far from dubstep as you can get really, whilst still being produced by a guy from Bristol who used to make dubstep. Of course there are snares with delay in a traditional dub-fashion, but its all tastefully done and absolutely fine by me - none of this wobble shizness. Lovely stuff

i checked this out on the strength of the ekoclef collaboration (haven't heard any other bass clef before) and i'm not really sure what to make of it. some absolutely brilliant parts on it, and i like the overall sound of the album, but i find some of the tracks a bit directionless. they tend to meander in their middles. so, i kind of wish some of the tracks were shorter, since they don't always hold my attention.

but, like i said, some brilliant tracks on there nonetheless. 'suddenly alone together' and 'walworth road acid trapdoor' are probably my favorites.

Punch Drunk is one of these labels I want to check out since ages. Any other releases you guys would recommend?

The Peverelist Album is quality as is the Guido 1.

Quite liked Bass Clefs first album but not really kept up with his stuff since then might have to check this out,

btw peverelist and guido album both cheap at the min on boomkat sale, just seen them on email from them for under a fiver well worth getting for the price!
