Sooner or later I'll try to get back into Drop the Vowels.

Do do - it's paying dividends here. Probably rinsed it a least once a day for the last 2 weeks or so, playing it as I opened this thread in fact. I had low expectations going in but it's a huge grower and my sleeper favorite of the year so far. Real clever amalgamation of d'n'b with the atmospherics that each of them are known for individually.

I've just started listening to it again. This might be some of my favorite stuff from either of them.

Perc - The Power and the Glory

Some really nice, ugly techno tunes on here. Really hitting the spot at the moment.

Bendish - Nataraja EP

Bendish - Rush and Crush

Fockin' solid. Ultra track= Nataraja EP, 3rd track, Dust.

Anyway, highly recommend Rush and Crush, +EP.

I'll read up on this thread soon. I haven't been keeping up with Electronic Music much at all. Here's some memorable albums of the past year for me:

Neil Young & Crazy Horse - Everybody Knows This is Nowhere; Broken Arrow; Rust Never Sleeps

With the addition of Trans, these 3 albums are as good as Neil gets (imo). The vocal inflections in EKTIN are heart-wrenching, especially in "Round & Round (It Won't Be Long)". I've been belting out the lyrics to "Losing End" just about every day lately.

Motherfucking Broken Arrow, man. The single note bass part for the last 7 minutes of "Loose Change" puts me in a trance every time. Couple that with Neil's in-and-out vocals and killer guitar solos and it ends up being one of the best songs I can think of.

Although, 'Sedan Delivery' from Rust Never Sleeps definitely takes the cake. Fast-paced tempo and Funny-as-hell lyrics cause me to put the track on repeat every time I put the album on in my car. Seriously, if you haven't delved very far into Neil Young's discography give these three albums a shot. They're all perfect.

Quilt - Held in Splendor

Shit, there were days where I'd listen to "Arctic Shark" 10 times in a row. The winter here in Minnesota made the entire state depressed. I've never seen anything like it. I got this album just as Spring was starting to show it's gorgeous mug and it really clicked with me. A lot of people may just pass it up as uninspired indie-rock, and I guess I don't know how I'd fight someone with that opinion. I just like it.

Alec Empire - The Golden Foretaste Of Heaven

I don't know how many times I've fucked to this album now, but it's exactly what we always want to hear. Hardcore yet sweet at the same time. So many driving beats. "On Fire (The Hellish Vortex Sessions)" makes me wanna punch a wall and fuck like there's no tomorrow. Good shit. With the exception of "Robot L.O.V.E." I always skip that one.

Merzbow - Aqua Necromancer

Fantastic album. The intro to "Contrapunti Indian" becomes so overwhelming; the noise turns into this breathing huge thing and then dives into cutup psychedlic rock. I put it up there with Merzzow and Merzbeat. Had to edit out the high-pitch noise in "Soft Drums". It seems whenever a Merzbow song has the word "Soft" in the title you're in for some high pitches.

Plastics - Origato Plastico

I was very happy to find more 80's Japanese New Wave this year. I don't really know how to describe it, but I love it.

Chaos Royale - You Realize, This Means War

He released Discopathology on V/vm Test under Noise/Girl back in 2001. 10 years later he released this album. I suppose I'd equate it to Noise mixed with Dubstep with a high tempo. It's loud, it's hardcore, it's good.

Tim Hecker - Trade Winds, White Noise

I'm not very big into Hecker. I've tried giving him a chance, but the only thing I've liked for the past several years is Radio Amor; and I like it a lot. I discovered this companion piece of sorts, and I'd say it's just as good as that album. Both really impressionistic images of the sea and stuff. If you like Radio Amor, get this one too.

Alien Porno Midgets - High Altitude Over Our Little Grass Shack in Kealakekua

It's just Hawaiian music given the V/vm and Jansky Noise treatment. It's right up there with Sick Love.

Venetian Snares - Infolepsy EP

I'd only really listened to the track "Twelve" until this year. "Where's Bill" is one of the greatest hardcore epics I know of along with Aphex Twin's "54 Cymru Beats".

All of Leyland Kirby's new stuff is good too, so go buy that.

I just listened to Del the Funky Homosapien's newest album, Iller Than Most. It's the one he released for free earlier in the year. I just now got around to it, but it's pretty damn cool. His rhymes and charisma are over the top on this record. I highly recommend it.

Also in heavy rotation is that new Venetian Snares. I'm feeling it.
