Seriously just put your mind in the right place and you don't need to spend every second of every day making music. Be a creative spirit.

I'M SORRY FOR BEING ME I CAN'T HELP THE WAY I AM

If you take yourself too seriously with anything, you'll end up being upset and potentially quitting whenever you can't get something right or come across a roadblock.

Let go. Accept that you are dying. Become aware of your ego illusion holding onto life, but refrain from trying to do anything about it.

Now, make music like it is your final love letter for existance, like you are a bird soaring high above the rest of us, seeing how it all is. Tell us what you see.

why? Grinding your face against your gear would probably take the fun out of it and ruin the whole experience.

if you aren't already doing it as much as you want to it is because you don't really want to, you just like the idea of it yea?

Disconnecting the internet is all I need to do, but I haven't worked up the will power to figure out how to get it out of my life.

and when your album comes out, make sure to have an interview, and say "Ricardo Willalobo? who's that?" Pretend not to know anything so you seem like some kind of visionary dude.

I was like 50% joking 50% serious when I posted this thread. Obviously turning music into a 24/7 addiction would cause most people to burn out really quick, & there's so much other stuff worthy of attention outside of it, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who sometimes thinks, "if only I could turn myself into some sort of musical Rainman, I'd be able to give these things the attention they deserve"

Also I've decided that starting right now I'm only gonna put out songs that seem really interesting to me. No more "eh, good nuff. Chuck it out there", no more not following through on an outlandish production idea because the old ways are quicker. Gonna ride each track into the ground then dig them back up, til they mean something.

Going to put a serious response:

- figure out how little money you can live on

- cut even more shit out of the budget

- get your rent as low as possible

- find a flexible part time job (if you need to) that doesn't require your brain or is very inspiring (tend a rich old lady's garden twice a week)

- if you have a partner, make sure they're understanding and/or very into their own shit

- make sure you've told that partner what you want out of life and what they should expect from you

- stop spending money on stupid shit that you don't need

- relax and enjoy yourself

If you enjoy creating then you'll learn all of the other bits along the way.
