Almost my age! Damn I feel young.

again, i don't really hate skrillex as much as i hate the people that think that sort of music has any sort of integrity. i try to be open minded, and a lot of the time i employ a "well, each to his/her own" attitude towards personal preferences such as music taste and who knows, maybe it is original in its own way, sorta like a drawing by an autistic kid.

I also thought I joined WATMM long after it's inception, but it was maybe a year or so removed from joyrex.com. And disturbingly it means that I've frequented this site for a third of my existence on this planet.

Hey, about these warn points I've got. What's the expiration date on those? Will I carry those with me for the rest of my life? How about celebrating a sweet 13 by dropping everyone's warn points.

What's the point of removing them? Only you and the Mods can see them, so it's hardly anything negative towards you in regards to the forum. Assuming you don't earn any more, there should be nothing to worry about regarding those, right?

The point of removing them? All these little accidents can add up over time. Let's say I have 5 points over 5 years, is that much? I'm tempted to think not. Drop them after a year or two. Show your fellow watmmer some forgiveness after a while (of good behavior).

(Amen)

Warning points help to give the mods some perspective on what kind of user you have been when we dole out punishment for a new infringement. Your warning points were accrued in the last year. I would say that it's entirely appropriate that you carry that cross around with you. Perhaps it'll derail any future 'accidents'.

mods can still see the warnings even so they are removed. I don't get why they are not removed after good behavior for a certain time. Why not give the member some chance to excuse himself for what he / she did and them remove the points? Its one thing to slip a wrong wording on a bad day or getting caught in some heated discussion and then regretting it instantly and another to persevere evil trolling with the intent to constantly piss people off. On a forum I administrate we send people messages after the warning and when they honestly regret what they did the warnings are removed sooner or later. Sure its harder to moderate without using warnings right away but the mods / admins are very respected people here and often a verbal warning by a mod is more than enough to get things back into place. Instead I see warnings given instantly without announcement. sure its more easy to shoot the guy and leave but I would really like a more human way of moderation.

Well, wouldn't you theoretically not have to worry about how many warning points you accumulate if you weren't actively trying to break the rules? We've never banned anyone for an accumulation of warnings over a period of years, so there's no worries there - but we've had plenty of people who abused the auto-reduce feature we had in the past where they figured out when the warnings would drop off, troll a bit more, then wait. Anyone who is genuinely invested in being part of the community should never have to worry about their respective warning points, so the argument to remove them loses relevance since unless you accumulate a bunch over a short period of time due to purposely bad behaviour, there's really no risk of being banned if you're overall a decent member.
