Long live Rephlex, and thank you Gianluigi...

Lovely !

I'm happy I bought it after listening to the previews at Juno. Which other BW's records would you recommend ?

For unknown reason I never dug into his discography.

You'll be best off getting his 2CD compilation from Rephlex (2008), if that's still available. It compiles most of his work he released on Rephlex so far. Besides that, Kissing A Robot Goodbye and Program 11 are my favorite non-Rephlex releases.

Just ordered this one + D'arcangelo and some more EOD from Norman (my #1 Rephlex mailorder), I must say this BW sounds a little bit underwhelming compared to older stuff (I must be the only one here), and only 30 minutes... Let's just wait till I got the album.

brilliant! i can think of other short albums that left me feeling this way. i'm still very hungry plees; u r a lovely tease gianluigi

Found a not too expensive copy on Discogs, thanks for the tip !

I really can't figure out why I haven't listened to BW yet (while I've been exploring Rephlex's catalogue since 2001 or so). Anyway, never too late !

Suddenly Spring is the standout track for me, Laurel Canyon is a close second.

Hate to say it though, but I sort of agree with Herr Jan, the other tracks sound a bit underwhelming to me compared to his older stuff. There hardly was a weaker track amongst his older music, and while this all sounds very well produced (slick even, not sure I like it to be honest), the melodies seem a bit weaker (even though they might be more complex, that doesn't necessarily make them better at all). What I always liked about BW is his seemingly 'less is more' approach, it's a bit harder to find in this album, it focuses too much on the 'omg lush old synth sounds!' in my opinion.

Maybe I will change my mind later though lol

My expectations were probably set a bit too high as well. I'm afraid I'm getting old, I don't like new electronic music anymore

got mine from amazon.co.uk today. The Garden (And The Chateau) and Laurel Canyon are nice, the rest is pretty meh.

this record ends too quickly.... I hope we don't have to wait another 4 or 5 years for new bochum welt material.

Really bad weather outside, sitting here nice and warm with a cup of coffee and the new BW on a good system and it's better then I expected after those couple of youtube vids. Context y'all...
