OK, I'm going to say some things which hopefully won't offend you, I'm giving these suggestions because I think this has a lot of potential. I love the beginning. The piano is a great surprise and is executed really well.

The next synth to come in should be an octave higher, or should differentiate from the first bass synth more somehow. Or replace it.

The vocals aren't lead vocals but they're being treated as such. I feel like you should either give a more robotic performance and double/triple it or make a stronger performance pitch/emotionwise and arrange it up a 5th or an octave. A well arranged chorus of these vocals would go a long way.

The lead synth that comes in at the end is cool.

I really like this. I'm beginning to enjoy more and more tracks that don't need drums. It has a great vibe and some nice sounds. I guess I had to point out where I think it wants to go. If this helps, great, if not, do your thing!

thanks for the input. And I completely agree about "the next synth that comes in". Shortly after I uploaded the track I listened to it on my friends speakers and decided to bring it up an octave. It was clashing with the opening synth too much. So that's already taken care of.

I'll take to mind what you said about the vocals. The biggest problem I have is that my microphone is simply a headset mic. I really want to invest in something better soon, but I'm currently broke. I tried EQing the vocals a bit to try to make them more clear, but it's taking longer than I thought, so I just went ahead and rendered the track just to show others the idea of what I wanted the vocals to be. I'll actually try multiple versions at a higher and lower pitch to make it sound chord-like. Hopefully that will spice it up a bit.

Again, thanks for your input. I don't take to offence easily so speak your mind. As I've stated before, I'm just happy to get whatever help I can. How can I improve efficiently without feedback, right?

Cheers.

very cool man. you know, i think if you had some light percussion in there it would really make this sound amazing. id give it a try to see what it would sound like.

Thanks Frankie. Sure, I'll give it a shot. It can't hurt, right?

to be totally honest, this really doesn't grab me like your other stuff. not saying its bad, its quite good actually. but theres not much going on that would make me wanna listen again. youve got the build up but no climax.

Thanks for being honest. It was just an experiment, so I'm not that worried about it. I may go back to it sometime in the future and add a climax just to see. But oh well.

Painted Sky is rly interesting, maybe you can even get more out of it in future/ longer version. I'd like that.

Seven Thunder is not thaaat exiciting but I think you can still work with it and make it better / use it somehow.

i came back because i think my comment wasn't fair...

your tracks are really rich and dense regarding harmony and melody, but they lack in color/timbre, everything sounds very videogamish, no acoustic stuff, mainly electric/digital... i could see some lo-fi beats working perfectly with some of your arrangement paintings

  • 2 weeks later...

That remix is pretty cool. Very pretty synths, and it sounds different enough from the original, to stand on its own. I have to say, the drums are pretty bland, but considering you only spent under an hour on this, I can live with it.

Good.
