What Are Your Sources For Discovering New Music?

I read all the Onion A.V. Club reviews and look up songs from the interesting-sounding albums on The Hype Machine or YouTube. Onion AV is just one step down in pretentiousness from Pitchfork; I love it.

I listen to KISS FM.

I ask for my friends to make me mixes, best thing evar and really expands my taste.

In June and December, I google 'Best music of [whatever year it is]' and find decent-looking blogs with playlists to listen through.

And New Releases Forum -- but that gets a little overwhelming when I don't recognize 89% of the artists -- how do you even decide which one to click on and read?

last fm-related artists

Discogs is good but don't help me 2 discover whatever on music... it's just a collection of all the medias as cd / vinyls / cassettes / VHS / DVD... i use regularly Discogs, but more 2 complete my collections and c the similar/related artists... But i use it more 2 enlarge my collections...

forgot to add allmusic.com, a source i've been using for almost a decade

Used to be myspace, I found a TON of artists back in 07-08 when you could still find good artists on there. Found flying lotus, mike slott, gaslamp killer, free the robots, plus various underground artists. Then moved onto last.fm after myspace flopped.

Also wikipediaing favorite artists and looking up there influences.

internet radio stations like somafm dronezone, and especially dubterrain.

When I hear stuff i like I often use youtube and find linked tracks, explore the hyperlinked web of similar stuff,

maybe like it enough to buy some of it on bleep!
