Zephyr_Nova
I saw no mention of time zones in the rules, it just said 11:59pm. I did attempt to fix the list up a couple hours early in case their was a time zone issue, but that wasn't early enough apparently. I think all of Beck's albums are solid but I never got the acclaim for Sea Change over Odelay, Midnite Vultures, Mutations or Guero. I spent a good chunk of my week listening back to most of those albums with a critical ear, so I was actually pretty choked that I didn't get to fix up the end of the list. It was still worthwhile because of all the awesome music I listened to, and I ended up writing some interesting stuff because of it. Still... fuck you, pitchfork. Zephyr_Nova
Lightning Bolt's Hypermagic Mountain's pretty great, but probably not a top 100. But like you I haven't listened to it that much. Have you heard Hella's last album Tripper? Like Lightning Bolt it's a drummer and a guitarist who play hyper frenetic noise/math rock instrumentals, and their skill with their instruments is just fucking ridiculous. Anyway, Tripper is a special album because it's not only astonishing on a technical level but it's also just incredibly beautiful. When I hear it I feel like I'm having a religious experience. it leaves me inspired and in awe every time. Everyone should hear that album. I ranked it at 26, but it probably deserves to be higher.
