It might be even worse in context of the episode. It comes out of nowhere, then goes away and just leaves you feeling dead inside. I believe they call that a Big Lipped Alligator Moment.

It's from season 2 of Twin Peaks. Probably a bit of an in joke, but requires a bit of nostalgia. It's funnier if you know Twin Peaks well, but here's the clip anyway
