Here is how Grischa sounded in 2005 (there is only one release by him), it's much more interesting to compare than Treibgut

well, this is wonderful. the first tracs seem to hold shallow from the depths to which the listener will eventually travel. as you descend further, deeper, it begins to builds pressure.

the short tracs tease me, especially 'globalbpm'

If they every do a new (and good) Terminator film they should use 1011_27_# 5b as the theme tune.

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

Any favourite tracks at this point? I'm currently in love with tracks 2, 3, 7, 12 and 13 (fuck naming them!). There's so much good stuff here though.

Well, i started with 4 & 5 (second track i loved year ago when it was included in podcast by Alva Noto), then went for 12, now newcomers. It's shifting in a beautiful way.

Cheers for that. Seems like a really nice bloke, very humble. Seems pretty humourless!

I'd be interested to see him live!

Also I reckon this is album of the year for me so far.

Same feeling

So Grischa's gone from 'some guy who did an EP I quite like' to 'Grischa fucking Lichtenberger!'

This album gets better and better. Somehow I'd been ignoring the brilliance that is 0111_05_z red. Absolute class!

I'd recommend this album to everybody if I didn't think that everybody would think it's complete shit. Hah!

I might have to order this one meself, it doesn't seem any of the music stores I go to carry a copy.

Definitely in my top 5 albums of the year so far. Love the cold / harsh mechanical sounds interspersed with little melodies that creep up on you. There are a few tracks around 18-20 (not gonna bother with track names) that sound like a dream sequence within the entire soundtrack, then you are snapped out of it for the last few tracks that are really percussive and funky.

Some great "dancefloor" style moments, some bits that sound to me like they are straight out of Quaristice (but not rip-offs, just certain sounds that remind me of that style) and definitely one of the better Raster-Noton releases in terms of accessibility and cohesion.

Been on repeat in the car for the past week, and will give it an in-depth headphone listen one evening....

That's a great interview. I love the story about the third track, it's cool that he's happy to discuss his method. Really like how he has the speakers above him, it makes some sort of mad sense, haha.

this is a great album. gonna be jamming this a lot.

Also, I enjoy the way he expresses himself:

"when you want to draw a straight line and you tremble a bit, hesitate a little (be a little bit off-zen, so to say) it may be because of your historically determined habits how, how much and when to question things. so that every curve in that stroke is like a trace of that not-intentionalized aspect of the world – your history (you could never completely tell) or the room, it’s light, it’s sounds, smells etc"

One of the best albums of 2012 so far. This, loud, on cans = ridiculous.
