Oh. My. Glob. I am so out of touch with today that I didn´t recognise ONE name in the whole of this thread.

As for music of 2012.. I think I can honestly say i don´t know any. Other than a band that´s now the new biggest thing in Iceland since I know most of the members. They just released their first album:

Where is Sculpture - Slime Code available? I've checked the record label and googled a bunch but I can't find it for purchase or download anywhere. It's 4 parts right?

Lone needs to avoid falling into the "TRAP"... He needs a future-hazy hybrid form.

I was extremely excited about DISKOTOPIA this summer. Mau'lin is excellent with "function open" and "starbeast" and I think greeen linez has had one of the clearest visions in their release "things that fade." DISKOTOPIA and ESP have been pushing this fusion of city pop, smooth jazz, and future EDM that I think represents a clear parallel to the developments in trap/juke. Seahawks were popular, some stuff more worth listening to than others, but this Johnny Nash remix is some of the smoothest stuff all summer.

I've not been staying as up on things the past couple months though. Kane Ikin-Sublunar is the most recent thing I've picked up and it's excellent.

Mirroring-foreign body was also an amazing release. One of the few pieces of vinyl I've purchased this year.

Yeah but there's only about twelve people in Iceland and five of them are Bjork and Sigur Ros so that's not that impressive.

A lot of stuff I don't recognize in this thread. Can't wait to sort through it.

My favorites for this year have been

Floex - Zorya

Mala - Mala In Cuba

GY!BE - The New One

That's not going into the number of insanely good singles put out by people like the Black Box/Box Clever crew.
