Morons.

The only good thing they've done has been to reveal the name of the guy who bullied that girl who ended up committing suicide.

Anonymous are always going to be cunts but the incompetence is everywhere. What Paypal information was supposedly posted to a PasteBin ZDNet? Credit card numbers, unencrypted passwords...? Why did PrivatePaste delete the page? Now I can't even see if my data is out there. It wouldn't surprise me Paypal stores unhashed passwords. Last time I tried to change my password they still had a silly password length limit.

The existence/purpose of Anonymous is really starting to confuse me.

I have my doubts that Anonymous was behind this.

yeah doubtful. anonymous isn't some singular entity anyway it's pretty much whoever claims to be it

great point, too bad this point is rarely raised in discussions about anonymous

the only times it is rarely discussed is when cable news people talk about anonymous.

the whole mantra of anonymous is that they are anonymous.

right...so if the importance is that Anonymous is anonymous, why even bother with this semblance of organization?

who the fuck knows. if you think about it it's really confusing. is it better to risk having idiots claim to be the "True" anonymous?

PayPal password leak is a rumor

And the original rumor itself isn't even that bad

It was a password hash table not actual passwords

Meaning if anyone wanted to make sense of even one of those passwords they'd have to fire up Cain and Abel to brute force for quite a few hours or have pre-compiled rainbow tables which are a rarity nowadays.

(Assuming this were true which it isn't)
