Not interesting until bets are placed.

intrade currently has obama at 67.7%

It's all looking rather good for Obama, but knowing the stupidity of the electorate Romney could still take it. Obama may be a shit president, but Romney would be even shittier.

Glad to see the WATMMassif shares my prediction. I am seriously astounded by the media going on about how close it is.

this is only due to this relatively new concept that all the Obama favoring polls are skewed, and that polling needs a serious shakeup in its sampling methods, etc. Which might be true (but im guessing not likely).

I'm by no means Huey Lewis or Chim Chim Cheree or any of that stuff you guys like but I definitely can say "I'll see you at the poles!"

does it really matter?

Somewhat, actually. I've been half asleep through the whole media hype just sort of assuming Obama would win. If I don't vote, that won't happen. It's all I have to do.

As for if it matters, well... to be honest it just feels good to have something different to do today.

yes. you are voting on things other than the president.

for example, my state is having a referendum on recognition of gay marriage. i shall be voting in favor of such a recognition.

I'm proud to be here for this historical moment on WATMM, when we all go about our days and report back on it here.

I am proud to be American today, as in, a member of a country that is hated but also bizarrely idolized (Germans love the Wild West, I think the French admire power, the British fought with us in WW2 but they might be the ones that hate us most, it's admirable, I think it actually has to do with the battle between Detroit techno and rave... Asians live here but don't have even the slightest desire to blend in, Africans are frankly what make this country unique and great providing culture that has more influence in the world than anything the Christians have done for a long time).

Arabs and Israelis the only people still not figured out how to settle down. Also the Congo but that's our fault. Gotta admire the South America land for their strides. I think South America might be the most futuristic place on this great planet.

Oh yeah, but I love America. America is a futuristic land of blending cultures. I love America because it gives me something to feel superior to.

I know, it just seems like everyone here gets caught up in the president when it's the house and senate that really make all the fuck ups possible.

how come there's only 2 parties in US elections? what are the other parties that never make it to the running? (genuinely)

i wondered about that too the other day, app they do have parties like Green Party and such

check http://en.wikipedia...._election,_2012

but they dont run for president i think.

What I also don't get is the names of both the parties Democrats & Republicans.. Isn't the governmental system of the US considered a Democratic Republic? :p and one the first parties in the 1800s was called Democratic-Republicans as well. i'm confused

The main 2 other parties are the Green & Libertarian parties. Not sure how much % each draws in a typical election. I'm sure for local races the numbers are quite a bit higher for each than in national races.
