deliberate or not, it's a tad distracting, but the minimalism of this album is really neat, like you're channel surfing at 2am in tokyo on a drug binge

Mesh, great album right? This is some the most obscure of obscure in the genre haha... Have you seen some of the videos from this release? Theyre pretty creepy.

Nice track you got there. Nice sad stuff. I think you could put that under "vaporwave" or at least "vaporwavish" because the genre feels pretty diverse anyway.

I like how there are different approaches in this genre. I think I prefer taking a bit more introverted emotion-based look on things. Not so much commenting on pop-culture or commercialism than using the style to conjure up a nostalgic, melancholic state of mind. Or at least trying to.

Heh, well no. The vox are from some Celine Dion acappella thing I found on youtube. Just took a bit from it that I autotuned around a bit.

And yeh you have the right idea there. I made like a 8 bar bit of stuff going at normal speed, then just made a mixdown of it and pitched the whole thing down like -4.

And from there on started actually making the track and adding some extra stuff.

Also using ridiculous amounts of delay, cutting the high ends and saturation make things sound nicely shitty.
