I started watching the videos and I have to say, I haven't been this freaked out in a long time. I could make some of these sounds pretty easily in ableton using a noise source, but the ubiquity of the videos makes me doubt that this is a hoax.

You would listen to Exai when you sleep. It would haunt your dreams.

They could also release it chemically. A pill you take that causes synesthesic seizures or perhaps they could treat a city's water supply so that you imbibe Exai and it is over time interpreted by your brain.
