Pretty much. We are a sad bunch who can't talk to people when we are sober. I'm exaggerating a little, there are plenty of fun people who don't drink... as much.

For example I ask a Swedish fellow if a new outfit makes me look fat he will respond with "You would not need a pair of pants to make you look fat because the times in which you are not fat are more unique."

when in madrid for a month i met a chap who was gay,and he hated his home [sweden] saying that the country was very intolerant of his lifestyle.

i was a bit shocked by this ,as I thought MOST of europe was fairly "liberated" and open minded.
