the vox speaking through the aether in "Recks On" are one of the coolest, saddest, and most beautiful things I've heard! definitely didn't notice on the first listen

also i had to lol at the thought of Sean pulling out the MD from the closet to put that one clap into Fleure for Quaristice backwards compatibility reasons.

Exactly! Couldn't help but feel like they were doing it just to mess with us

I've pointed this one out before but it is sooooo good. perhaps my favorite of anything

spl9 - 2:00 -2:15

Now thats a stomper. Reminds me of some parts on Lego Feet

This thread is full of awesome observations! I'm not sure if I already mentioned this one bit at 3:17 in vekoS that sounds straight out of rsdio. I really wish that happened more in this track than just that 1 second snippet.

the start of the sublimit-esque collapse of prac-f at 3:09

irlite - the chiastic-era metal drum sounding thing that comes in around 3min, the glitched synth chord at 6:56, 8:12 to the end. it could be straight out of untilted/quaristice

there are a bunch of great synth parts in recks on where the dissonant note is held into the next bar, they all sound great. 6:44 is the best tho

At exactly 1:47 in "spl9," (at 16 bars of the shift in sound) the sounds seem to pause or hang for a moment, just a fraction of a second, and it's fucking awesome. I'm a sucker for great tension, and despite how crazy subtle that moment is, for me it has all the intensity of a crazy bass drop. This is all the more worthwhile to mention considering just how intense the track is as a whole.

Yes, I love this part!

I have to reiterate the part in vekoS that sounds like rsdio at 3:16 and right after that there's a really sweet bass riff. I don't think it's as predominant as this in any other sequence in the track. That particular set of notes and sound of the bass just ahhh. It's fucking awesome, and it's double awesome that it's so fleeting and only happens the one time, and it's double double awesome that it took until now for me to fully understand that. :music:

There's a TON of moments like that in vekos where something ridiculous happens for about 2 seconds then goes away for good. crazy maniacal track that, were it human, would require a straightjacket.

Autechre Rule - Queen are Shite

this is quite obvious and has probably already been mentioned, but the moment in irlite at 5:24 when the stumbling beat comes back in is pure perfection.

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.

YJY UX is utterly mind-blowing, but there are two spots around 3:16-3:18 and more prominently at 3:27-3:31 where this amazing fuzziness floats through. It's like dissolving into atomic bits.

Also, at 0:48 in "bladelores", it sounds like the track is skipping... I thought I had a scratched CD for a while.

In irlite (get 0) @ 8:09, that snare coming from nowhere...

Yeah, I LOVE that. It's like [...........] THWACK!! [...........]

But that one sudden, dry, super loud snare actually holds everything together. I've noticed that this track is full of details I didn't notice before. I've always loved it, but I used to see it as pretty 'jammy' and improvised. Maybe it is, partly, but it's also full of detail - more so than any other track on the album to my ears, apart from the incredible Prac-f.

there's a sound like a mic being dropped/bumped in bladelores at around 9:55. Not a fave moment but an interesting touch. The interference continues to the end of the track.

Upon repeated listens I can confidently say the best chunk of Flep is when the airy sound falls into a full and predominant groove for two bars at 1:25-1:30 but there are two nice warm-up bars proceeding it. For context listen from 1:20. God damn that gets me going every time.

Spl9 IS DEFINITELY the best track on the album.

like, irlite (get 0) might be the best that is also very representative of the album as whole, but spl9 is seriously the best track they've done in years.

Feeling the spl9 love here, especially the "Earth vs flying saucers" outro section!

The last 3-4 minutes of recks on is one of the all time best Ae pieces for me. From that pregnant evil drone with the dry woodblock hits, through the rhythmic unravelling and floating pads with morphed voices - could not ask for anything more.

Had not noticed the big similarities between YJY UX and drane2 until just now, either - I am sure they have been commented on before though.

What a monster album.

The major second flourishes at the beginning-ish of irlite. The whole melody/harmony situation in irlite is breathtaking.
