New album 2013

I like all the bass drops on this one.

Skrillex move aside, BoC has the wobblebass under control with this shizznit.

Did anyone else's copy have about 45 seconds of silence during the middle of the 5th track? Like I thought it was a reverb then gonna drop back into something, but it was just... silence.

Then the track kicked back in but it had kinda lost its energy as it went back into the plinky plonky percussive bits so I thought wtf and I skipped to the next one.

Also not convinced by the vocals, and woooah some of those "quieter" vocals snippets are really camp (Rabbits and juniper berries, lol). In fact, the whole album is pretty quiet. Maybe just my copy / this rip? Maybe intentional, who knows.

I like the creepy whispered adult voices. That's a change.

i wish they left the gay opeth vocals off it

i like how they actually released most of the album years ago on youtube under an alias, & no one even realized

But if that's the case, they could have been working on more new material, and so they could have a second album that's close to being ready to go (since it's been a while since 2009).

The thing I don't like about the new BoC is how it keeps whispering to me to kill people. I don't know how they did it; I mean, the vinyl isn't even in the record player, but it keeps telling me "You know you want to. Just do it." And then dead people appear on the cover. I mean the 666 stuff on warp was cool and all, but this is just going a little far imo.

From my understanding, when it was planned on coming out in years past, it was not finished (aka "in the can"), but close enough to start planning a release window, and Boards has spent time refining and tweaking it into the final form that will ultimately get released. I don't think they (or WARP) would "sit" on a finished release (and as you might imagine, there's a lot more to a release being "ready" than simply having a set of tracks done).

There's probably some ironic truth to my other joke thread image about how Boards are very meticulous and take their time on crafting their music. I can speak from experience where family time and other obligations pull you away from the time needed for that kind of work, and can delay things by months or even years.

I think it is you that doesn't get it! Because there's really no difference at all from someone 'in the know' saying there's a new album coming out & then it doesn't to me or you or anyone else saying the same thing! I think you've previously put you faith in these now obvious charaltans & it's difficult for you to accept this. Like all of us on here you really want to see some new material from the band. But I'm long since over it after such a long time & so much bullshit about a release. But you are clearly more susceptable to it & have thus far soaked up all the rumours like a sponge!

But I'm not expecting a June release by any stretch of the imagination. I don't know who your source is but given how susceptable you are to previous claims it might as well have been Ronald McDonald!!

This release better be a double album, and by that I mean two full 80 min CDs, or 4-5 pieces of vinyl. Otherwise they've got at least 5 years of explaining to do.

actually i have it on good authority that it's not a 4 pack of snickers, but a 6 pack of mountain dew. The cans are just regular mountain dew, but are arranged in a hexagon shape rather than the typical "two rows of three". Pretty cool and definitely worth the wait!
