yeah that's the feeling I have after having used it since October. the classic filter is good though but I read that unlike the acid one it doesn't have keyboard tracking (I read that from a guy on Novation's forum who commented that it was really a shame and a big limitation that the BS2 filters doesn't have keyboard tracking control because it makes it hard to use in certain cases). I have noticed this problem and I often have to turn the volume down when opening the cutoff knob. Maybe they'll fix that at some point, would be great.

Both filters definitely have keyboard tracking. Turn the resonance up to self oscillation and turn the oscillators down - the filters should scale "musically" up and down the keyboard.

do you other lucky owners of BS2 use the acid filter a lot? Sounds kind of thin in comparison to the classic one and you can't go very far with resonance. I should make some proper A/B comparison though because the acid one sounds more quiet as the classic and that could influence my judgement. Just wanted to know how you guys feel about it?

Try it with this feedback trick.

Nice videos!

I find it's hard to mix the synth correctly when you want to switch octaves because it does sound louder to my ears when you play on higher octaves in most of situations. Then I read on the official forum that the Classic filter doesn't have keyboard tracking and the Acid one something like 50%. I won't be able to check it again with the trick you suggest in the next two weeks but I'll give it a try when I'm back home.

regarding the acid filter, I tried to use it more lately, adjusting the level every time I was switching to it and I can now say I've been wrong in calling this filter "thin", it's actually bassier as the other one (as pointed out in the review by Sound on Sound). Considering it's supposed to have this keyboard tracking I guess it makes it the best option for going bassy bass on this synth (just annoying having to adjust the level when you're searching for a sound and switching between filters. it also feels kind of counter-intuitive to have a filter named Acid which doesn't provides that much juice when you push the resonance to the maximum, in comparison with the Classic one.) but you just have to learn those particularities and then you know more what you're doing.

the thing with the feedback loop is great, I didn't think about it and can't wait to make some noise with that!
