AMAZING MUSIC. Why dont he release a new album.

such a musical genius, I hate what he is doing right now. where the fuck is the new album

Great post. I think that sums it all up for all of us.

I think you'd have to get him in a pub in a jolly mood, after 5 pints of beer to get an honest answer. Though I'd drop the 'where the fuck is the new album' bit. That won't get you far lol.

i get it, if you were famous, how could it not be annoying having myriads of trolls and idiots opining on your stuff? for me, knowing that's in store would detract from the enjoyment of making music. this way the real fans get to hear stuff through bootlegs, which is cool.

Yeah, but we still give our opinions on it, and considering RDJ's reaction to "quite good" I can't imagine how this forum makes him feel. I mean I probably wouldn't be getting a Christmas card either.

there are fewer opinions this way, they're in fewer places, and they're more likely to be from real fans, rather than passing fans.

the opinion thing is probably just a minor reason, if that, behind there not being an overt, new RDJ album. probably he wants to be able to go to a record store without a crowd gathering around him.

one of the awesome things about him is how he presents his music, how caustic window tracks are different from polygon window tracks, and afx tracks are different from aphex twin tracks. the more he accumulates, the more options for selections he has.

It makes me sad there is no new music released when I hear something as epic and amazing as the Metz track. This man is a genius. My favorite musician. Just gimme that track as an EP and I'll forgive him for 3 more years at least...

You say that, but anyone who really loves music knows it is like any drug addiction. Sooner or later you need something different, something stronger, you go from snorting to mainlining and all the sudden you are on your knees at RDJ's door/tank/submarine/bank vault opening begging for more. Telling him, "If you just give me one more I promise I'll be done this time." We both know that is never going to happen, and so does he.

Yeah. It's just really depressing....and a goddamn shame. Life is too short. I need new Aphex in it. Listening to Drukqs is just a memory exercise now. Part of my brain is devoted to that album and every little nuance in it. It is time for something new. The Tuss tracks have their own space devoted to them too. It is time for something new.
