Well you kind of need them because of the RIAA EQ curve used on vinyl pressing/mastering, otherwise everything would end up sounding all treble top-heavy with little to no bass like Ufabulum Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide all signatures I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily. Captain James Mission
yeah. thanks pete for clearing things up. i don't know if you've been serious, but i use turntables since i've been able to handle records. my point was just: these old phono stages that were build inside many receivers in the 60s/70s have a really nice sound. my pioneer sx535 (that i use as a phono preamp) sounds beautiful. Ah sorry man, it was in reference to you saying - "do you use your amp for pre-amplifying your turntable or do you go straight into the soundcard?", I thought you were questioning if you could go straight from a turntable (that is one of the types that's not a standalone player with built in amplication) into an audio interface without any kind of pre-amp shenanigans Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide all signatures I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.
