Okay, Here's why I respect Deadmau5 :

 

you can't be serious. you realize that deadmau5 is playing music he has written himself, right? what he does doesn't compare to what a dj does insofar as it is about 1,000,000x cooler and requires 1,000,000x more talent than djing.

(a little tip for the kids: DJING IS EASY AS FUCK. any idiot can do it with a bit of practice. now sit down and try to write a track that doesn't sound like it was written on a calculator )

that being said, I don't like deadmua5's music either, but I have a ton of respect for an artist that can captivate huge audiences playing exclusively original material.

There's 1 or 2 DM tracks I can appreciate, faxing berlin being one of them. Don't mind the dude so much as the constant arguments surrounding him, it's weird people getting so worked up over someone they see as the sole destroyer of electronic music.

Also I think it's pretty cool he did that panel with Richie Hawtin especially since Richie used to own the domain fucktrance.com which had a pretty great quote about electronic music from his mother on it.

honestly, i couldnt care less that the guy is famous. thats not why i hate his music. i just cant stand it cause to me it sounds like generic electronic music that i hear all the time on Soundcloud. and Richie, if you really think hes the first DJ to write his own music then your an idiot.

I also find it embarrassing but also funny that he acted as if he was dropping some big revelation in that interview where's he like 'hey guys guess what, none of us actually play live we just hit a button on a laptop' or something to that effect. Not only is that totally not true, there are plenty of electronic musicians who know how to play live, but that implies that he doesn't know a single live accomplished electronic musician. If he doesn't have aids i hope someone gives it to him

Maybe keep his statements within his context? The people who turn up at deadmau5 concerts tend to listen to button pressing stage monkeys perhaps? No need to go all " he deserves aids" on his ass. You angry man?
