Not saying this is a fact, but it doesn't really seem that far-fetched to me. If anyone has some interviews or something that debunks this super amazing theory, feel free to post them.

edit: 1983!!!

gradually and pretty randomly sifting through their discog these days. Reminds me more of the droney aspects of Coil/NWW and some of the old kranky label artists like Godspeed, Silver Mt. Zion etc. than BoC really

great article. i discovered soviet france off of soulseek at some point. while i definitely didn’t get the experience of having these weird packages come in like strange gifts from another world, listening those albums and finding out the came out in the early 80s was like discovering an alternate timeline for human culture. i got all the repressed and do a marathon zf listening session once a year now, in addition to putting on my favorites on a regular basis
