Whatwhat is there to look at? What is wrong with devoting your whole undivided attention to a cohesive work of art. I like to focus on the pure sound without distraction.

You were concentrating too hard. Just go about your daily business with light and the music will seep through better. I hate hearing about people listening to music with their eyes shut. It's so false.

No. That's not how I do music. Music for me is a ritual experience. soz m8

If Bleep don't put the files up tomorrow I will go insane, and the Japanese release will be everywhere in full FLAC later on in the day / during the night (they would put them up to prevent people downloading that at least, right?)

bleep pls

Did anyone else feel some serious early/recent autechre vibes on here? If not directly, maybe from the totally abstract, genre-less track structures? I did.

I didn`t think it was a particularily dark album, am I the only one?

I was surprised by how it wasn't as bleak as I expected. It was shimmering and colorful at times.

Same here, it became very dark but it was more of an epic album in scope. There weren't purely sinister moments but instead a lot of dark and creepy sounds came in and out. It was an ultimately hopeful album, but hope for something that is quite out of reach.

Had my eyes closed. Plus I haven't smoked in a while and I took three big rips of bho about 10 minutes prior to the start. Not sure I can handle another listen right now, but maybe tomorrow at work.

Fair enough, can we compromise and on the second listen go into a darkened room with your eyes open?

This is insanely premature, but this might end up being my favorite Boards of Canada album yet. It was unified, dense, and just such a journey. Something about the tone and whatever multiple things inspired them while recording this really struck a chord with me personally. I can wait another week only because I know just how good this will sound over and over again.

no... imo if any of it is comparable to anything else it's either more boc or on the first few tracks arovane

I'm glad I'm not the only one hyperbolic and pre-ejaculatory enough to make such a claim, but fuck yes, absolutely. I'm still recovering.

I haven't emotionally responded to a music listening experience of that length in a long time. Sure, the odd track here and there, but a full album?

Amazing how well it works together as a complete album, huh?

It's gonna be a painful 7 days to wait until the downloads are available...

And just so it's out there, PLEASE do not post any links to download the live stream unless it's a sanctioned link (aka WARP or BOC). Thanks.

Wait, I thought the assumption was that it would be available sometime sooner for those who preordered. Is that not reasonable to expect anymore?

That was my hope too, but the Bleep page clearly states the downloads will be available 06/10, but also available in all three formats (MP3, WAV and FLAC).

my one criticism:

the fade outs were a lil obnoxious. kind of strangles the 'sonic architecture' if you know what I mean

yeah i agree.

Nah, just the AOTY and everyone who listened to it live have now transcended to a higher level of being and are posting from a state of pure energy.

Isn't that pretty standard, since that's the official release date? I don't think they would change that text on the site unless/until a special announcement is made. Each time they've announced early downloads, in my experience, it was essentially a surprise, no?

Anyway, really want to be able to download this as I arrived late to the stream so I didn't listen to more than a couple of 2-second snippets. Didn't want to spoil anything without hearing it from the beginning.
