apriorion
I'm so sick of the daft punk comparison. It was lame the first time that comparison was drawn, and it got worse with each concrete instantiation. On that daft punk "lyrics"-based review of TH: did the author think he was clever? Was he trying to be ironic? Is he trying make fun of DP or BOC? God, it's so stupid that I have a hard time understanding how it was not written by a child or someone with severe cognitive handicaps. Guest M360
I've come to the conclusion that TH is a reggae album featuring a heavily distorted version of Mr. Owl from the Tootsie Roll commercials. http://youtu.be/VVOelyGUPo8?t=36s Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/79239-the-best-of-spin-magazines-initial-reviews-of-th/page/2/#findComment-2020055 Share on other sites

cear
there's halftime drumming on this - that's just factual music-theory.. and so is there on there previous records. i sort of understand why a person would use the term dubstep in that regard, although i do as well think it is kind of dumb and just plain lazy.. Yeah I mean 95% of BoC beats are half-time (i.e. backbeat on '3' instead of '2&4').
