To be honest I never saw the original, I'm all about oiled greek dudes and bronze and shit but I fucking hate Frank Miller and I've never seen a comic book movie that was any good.

Alan Moore said it best: "Frank Miller is someone whose work I've barely looked at for the past 20 years. I thought the Sin City stuff was unreconstructed misogyny; 300 [a 1998 comic book series] appeared to be wildly ahistoric, homophobic and just completely misguided. I think that there has probably been a rather unpleasant sensibility apparent in Frank Miller's work for quite a long time."

looks just as horrible as the first one was (and thats purely looking at it as, as Spuee put it, a mind numbing action flick). and why is it called 300 again? it has nothing to do with the 300. they died.

the first one was the only movie I've ever been thrown out of. I was yelling during the rape scene "GIVE CONSENT DO ITTT" and later my friend (he's very muscular) stood on a chair in the front row and marched in place with his shirt off as they were preparing for battle.

I liked the first movie, but I'll pretend like this one didn't happen.

agree, calling it 300 again is silly. they should probably have called it 30,000 or just rise of an empire.

They at least should make it historically accurate. They need to make the spartan soup with the pig's blood and the older men need to be fucking the young boys. If it doesn't have that the movie is a useless depiction in my opinion.

But that's the whole point of Frank Miller comics! Not understanding Frank Miller is like not understanding Beavis and Butthead. Sure it's stupid on the surface. That was the intention.
