Alan Moore said it best: "Frank Miller is someone whose work I've barely looked at for the past 20 years. I thought the Sin City stuff was unreconstructed misogyny; 300 [a 1998 comic book series] appeared to be wildly ahistoric, homophobic and just completely misguided. I think that there has probably been a rather unpleasant sensibility apparent in Frank Miller's work for quite a long time."

But that's the whole point of Frank Miller comics! Not understanding Frank Miller is like not understanding Beavis and Butthead. Sure it's stupid on the surface. That was the intention.

eh, no. Have you read Frank Miller being interviewed? I think Alan Moore understands him pretty well, you can gather the same understanding pretty quickly from reading especially his newer work and checking out his vile uneducated opinions in interviews. I mean don't get me wrong, some people like war hawk neoconservatism so if you like that and don't find it distasteful Miller's the man for you.
