Non-Smoking Thread

Quit a little before the begininng of the year. Been going pretty well thus far! Haven't had a smoke since. The urge has pretty much faded away at this point, although I'm really tempted to smoke hookah again because I love the taste. And the hookah bar I like to go to is just a really friendly atmosphere. But I'm afraid to have any nicotine until I've gone a bit longer without so for now I guess I'll hold off.

The only downside I've seen to not smoking is it makes throat singing a bit more difficult to do.

those gremlins come out fighting from time to time, especially after a few drinks, you just gotta tell em to "smell your mum" as you raise two clean-scented fingers up to the heavens

Oh yeah - marijuana is now legal for recreational use in my state.

But I will not be smoking it again any time soon.

5th days without smoking, feeling a bit better now...I'm less and less tired, even made some music yesterday --> good days to come !

I switched to an e-cigarette in May. I can't stand the taste of cigarettes now. Or the smell of some of them. Next challenge is getting my wife to switch.

can't even imagine how much money, health and time this shit took from me. Guess i wanted to be cool in high scool cause cool kids smoked. Didnt even remeber how it all started. Was sitting drunk on a bench when friend walked to me and asked "Whoa i didnt know you are smoking, how long are you doing it?" and i found myself with this shit in my mouth, someone probably handled it to me and i didnt even realise i was doing it for real.

I smoked a 1/4 to a 1/2 pack per day at one point when I was in my late teens. Quit one day. Never looked back. Never experienced any cravings after stopping.

I was under the influence after coming home from a hike on drugs, I came into my room to put a sweatshirt on, then proceeded to freak out because everything I owned smelled like cigarette.

I smoke cannabis almost daily, so I guess I never really quit smoking, but fuuuuuck cigarettes.

Yeah, definitely. The hardest part of quitting for me was disassociating the two. Because after every toke I would ALWAYS have a cigarette. So I had to quit smoking weed for a few weeks just so I wouldn't have that initial craving right after. But alas, now I can get as stoned as I want and not have any craving at all (Although the more I smoke the more I can tell it's creeping up in the background).

i have that problem with smoking cigarettes and drinking. why is it that they go so good together ;_;

I really wish I knew the answer to that actually. The one good thing is that I don't drink that often so it's one less thing to worry about when I quit.

one of the major problems i'll have quitting is having coffee without a smoke. i can't even imagine that right now ..i mean, what's the point of coffee without cigarettes really? also i work from home so i can take as many coffee breaks per day as i please, which only makes it worse. fuck.

a friend is in the process of quitting cigs and has smoked approx 15 roll-ups a day for aeons (and has a taste for the good green) has just bought an Arizer solo vape

she says that in the 1st week when the cravings for nicotine were particularly harsh, whenever she wanted that lung burn hit from a cigarette she loaded a small amount of green in the vape and voila......not in work obviously but she said it took the edge off big time and she no longer smokes joints either and is now ciggy free

ways/means.........some folks can just draw a line and hey presto, but knowing this person's predilection for a smoke its pretty good going

i love smoking, LOVE IT, been rolling tabacco for 17 years, it hasn't even crossed my mind to quit, i'm hooked like fuck

i know it will kill me but with my sigaret i feel like a junk that found a box of heroin, i reward myself with a sigaret to everything (i hate filter sigarets tough). i also smoke like a spliff a day, drink about 6beers after work, don't get me started on the shit i do in the weekend

i have everything, a home, work, friends who love me and a beautifull wife but can't imagine my life without these drugs it would feel like a prolapsing nun in jail. i'm an idiot but i'm happy, my way of dealing with this sick planet?

now there is gonna be a smoking ban at my work, so that's 8 hours without a sigaret my max is 2-3 hours without one, and it's very monotone so no more rewards,just me and the clock

i'm having toughts of getting another job but i think maybe it's best i should be a nun in jail for 8hrs

Precisely why I couldn't resist the envy and smoked like 4 or 5 cigarettes yesterday night...Gutted.

Felt like a moron this morning, when I realized that I wanted to smoke even more and asked a friend of mine for a cig.

I handled it for a whole week tho. Will try to go through another nicotine-free week, starting tomorrow !

What it actually says is that exposure to smoke causes temporary decrease in blood vessel function. Actually makes a lot of sense given that if you add more smoke to your environment you will be taking in less oxygen which equals lower function. Quite common sense I think.

Switched to vaping with 0mg nicotin in january. Went a bit mad with it.

yea a total smoke ban in the whole factory, people losing their minds and job there cause of it haha

i got lucky and i'm able to work just in the weekend now and i have absolutly no problem with not a single puff in 12 hours, still i'm in love with my smoke, like dj khaled unable to stop winning

My company has also discussed potentially making the entire property non-smoking. That means nowhere, the employees can't even in their cars!

It's not been implemented as of yet, but it has been discussed!
