who should play the next Doctor Who?

Recommended Posts

I'm not the biggest Dr Who fan, but with all the EU members on here, there have to be some. with Matt Smith leaving, who would be a great new Doctor? I've read names in the media suggested from Helen Mirren to Idris Elba, both of whom I think would be great, and bring something new to the franchise.

I mean, we've had 3 skinny white guys with brown hair in a row, time for a change?

I like Chris O’Dowd, his name been thrown around and i think he would be a cartoonish-type doctor which would be refreshing chance from all the seriousness.

Idris Alba would be a bore in my opinion.

They leave The Doctor's hands white, to pay homage to the white handed legacy.

Whoopi Goldberg ain't a lesbian so that means she isn't fully suitably qualified for the position. Yet.

Yah, I forgot about that-- all the previous Doctors were played by African lesbian women.

That's the main pitfall with time travel.

Oh, that's a feature of the sonic screwdriver that never got mentioned. Helpful i suppose, to temporally shifted, nubian space lesbians.

Also, this time it should be an older chap with some acting chops, and wild hair.

A member of the non sequitairiate.

It sounds like they're filling in the 1996-2005 gap before Eccleston with a "new" old Doctor, John Hurt's character.

Nope.

My vote goes to another brunette white man who has unconventional looks and supreme performance capability, among other things, including but not limited to, a British accent.

Well, considering The Doctor is generally getting younger and younger, I suppose- for a serious answer- it's gonna be someone who looks 17. So like, Bill Milner or someshit.

There should be an announcement in about 3 weeks' time, according to those "in the know". I'd prefer an older actor this time myself - the dashing young ball of energy Tennant/Smith were gets tiresome after a bit. That would also put the kibosh on the in-vogue Doctor/Companion fancy each other trope the current series loves to beat to death at every turn.
