Good flu remedies please

The only thing that shortens a cold is faking a fever and getting your body temp up. Switch the heating on, wrap yourself up and then get under the duvet and sweat it out. It will only shorten it by a day or so though.

Gargling with salt water will help clear your throat and hopefully prevent a bacterial infection. Works with a saline nasal rinse as well.

I usually just smash the pseudoephedrine+codeine tablets for 4–6 days until it goes away.

I would just call it being ill. Or a temperature or fever-ish. You'll know when you get a proper fever as you'll genuinely believe you are close to death.

I second modey's suggestion. Just get wasted on cold meds and enjoy time off work.

Does anyone here actually enjoy having a fever? I dislike the whole throws a wrench in all your plans part, but I like the way it feels. All your skin becomes more sensitive, sleeping in a warm blanket is that much more satisfying, and you feel totally content being a lazy ass and sleeping for hours and hours.

Fever dreams are interesting in a weird way. I'm always intrigued by the bizarre spacial distortion stuff that happens in them. Like, a tiny smooth cube would switch between being small and infinitely large depending on the viewing angle, for example.

I have a weird recurring dream I get when I have a fever. It's a plain landscape made entirely of paper which keeps scrunching and unscrunching in a rhythm as if the landscape were breathing. All plain white. There is a high pitched tinnitus type sound and it gets louder and louder like a deafening silence. Hmm.

Yeah, my fever dreams are always plain white everywhere. Often including industrial machinery in combination with the aforementioned spacial distortion fuckery.
