For me, it is being on this forum and realizing I should be doing something else and not wasting my time.However that is a paradox because I dont have much else to do.

Seconded. If your feeling really bored, like you want to just pass the time, start reading a book. You'll feel accomplished after finishing a book.

Boredom's a great motivator for that. A lot of the music I've written stemmed from the fact that I felt I had nothing better to do. Sometimes inspiration is born out of having no inspiration. If I found the world endlessly fascinating all the time I'd probably never get anything done.
