Our emergency manager Kevyn Orr came in & took the axe to them. many of the clowncil resigned or ended up just "disappearing" & having not been heard of since, except for photographic evidence placing them in Seattle. It was only a mtter of time before chapter 9. Running an $18 billion dollar deficit with a $1 billion income doesn't make good maths...

Huh? So what happens when a city goes bankrupt? Are its assets sold to the highest bidder? I don't understand.

This all sounds so fucked up from a foreigner perspective, especially considering the way it's portrayed in our national media. But what does it actually mean on a practical level? Are they just going to shut the whole thing down and send every detroiter off to another city/concentration camp?
