It was my Birthday yesterday. Nobody ever knows what to get me because I'm an esoteric character with a penchant for the intangible (in terms of gifting ideas). I make it easy on people and tell them not to get me anything (see also: Christmas). That's where the real entertainment lies - watching friends and family get bent out of shape as they stare down the crossroads of indecision, anger, and faint despair. Don't get me wrong, I love my nearest and dearest, and it's all done with a wry smile. It's more of an inside joke at this point that I'm 'that guy' when it comes to attempting to find a gift for.

 

As indecision appears to haunt you, I suggest you go with the evergreen classic: "Surprise me."

 

the fact that you lead them to believe that you want a gift from them makes you a cunt. ie don't be an esoteric cunt and tell them to fuck off. no present needed.

get yourself a fresh new bed and mattress. really makes your life a little better

So it seems my mother wants to buy me new glasses(she works in an opticians), probably cause these ones slide off my nose...

I ended up saying I'm not really bothered I don't need anything and we could just go out for a meal and that will suffice.

I'll end up with a book off my sister and the rest of my family will just give me money.

We don't really do gifts in my circle of friends which is cool! Useless its a special birthday...

These are great suggestions though and I'll refer to this thread for other people. I know its pretty lame but I'm gonna start just buying people cacti as a gift ;)

Ask your mum to buy you a fleshlight. Let her work out what it is.
