I've changed my thoughts on the record, i'd definitely put it above BOC's other albums at this point.

I didn't see that post about "Come to Dust": there's no way in hell that's "dubstep influenced". Why on Earth would anyone think that it is?

they read it somewhere.

There are plenty of good moments for sure, but it's just too nice and is afraid to make the first move. Let's just be friends Tomorrow's Harvest. Friendzoned.

spot on observation imo

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

- lost cloud

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.

-organized confused project

I haven't listened to it for a while. Last summer I was pretty much stoned all the time, and reached some new levels of .. er .. understanding? It'd be best if I give it another try somewhere right around Halloween. Seems fitting somehow?

As I remember it, I liked it. It wasn't grand like MHTRTC, or beautifully twisted like Geogaddi or ethereal space stuff like TCH. It felt .. desolate, but that could've been my mindstate. Maybe it's a grower, and I need to give it some space. Or maybe it's just not that good?

Aw well, I'm just glad there's more music to be enjoyed.

If someone other than BOC released it nobody would care

But BoC did release it! :-/

It's an interesting point though. If someone else other than BoC released this people would likely say, 'hay, that sounds exactly like BoC'! But would we like it as much? (Assuming we like it at all!). I guess we'll never know now. We're way passed that with BoC. They are a pop-electronic band these days (a reflection on their popularity, not their musical output). On the one hand they can do no wrong, but at the the same time our expectations are quite limited. If they did come along with something totally new people WOULD complain it sounds nothing like BoC. Yet when they give us more of the same, which tends to be what people would like, our opinions are very mixed. It's a catch 22 for BoC in some ways. They're damned if they do and damned if they don't. As such I think the best thing is they just give us more of what they do best and why we fell in love with their work in the first place.

Personally I think TH is a fantastic album. Some of their best work to date IMO ...... Or have I just listened to the rest of their stuff SO much that I'm just glad of something new?! :-/ If I could erase all previous BoC works from my brain box and then listen to TH as an album from new electronic artists BoC would I like it as much as I do now?

I don't dislike the album it's just as a whole it's not as varied and refined as Giogaddi or as innovative as MHtRtC. Sure there are some gems but the gems don't seem to stick like the ones in Campfire Headphase and for the length of time its' taken for this album to come out it's a slight anti climax for me.

Still a good enough album but bread and butter standard BoC imho.

I've come to the conclusion that instead of praising this album, I'd be better off slagging it off.

Mdg (Sandisons Uncle with a bag of Wethers Originals) treks through the wilderness, gets to Hexagon Sun covered in mud and pine needles and explain to those good lads that even though the Amazon reviews seem okay and the Worldwide charts report back a fine healthy return, and twoism, dot, com are having a fine naked orgy, those awkward bastards at watmm aren't impressed.

So they have a nip of good scotch, sacrifice a fucking goat, crank up the 'secret weapon' and unleash another 12 tracks of insanity upon us.

God only knows I love beer and I love Boards of Canada and I love you and I love....summat else...... which seems to of eluded me...

Savage!!

if there is a days worth of acid piled up in the corner it takes me about the length of TH to lick my hand. its perfect music for that

OneToThirtySix that track doesn't sound at all 'dubstep influenced' but it's dumb that you're pitchfork influenced.

It had more to do with the rhythms than the presence of wobble bass, imo...

Well, 4 months or so on from first hearing this and I think it's a fantastic album, and for me it's BOC's most consistent disc. On the others there's always been a few I dislike and tended to skip but with TH I pretty much love the whole thing. Only Jacquard's Causeway grated initially and even that is growing on me.

I find it appreciably different from the other albums (each one is very different imo). I love the Berlin School influence and the dark haunting atmospheres are wonderful.

Great album and let's hope we don't have to wait so long for the next one.

Positive vibes, very nice post.

I think if you are into the vibe of the album you'll like it from beginning to end, it sort of ebbs and flows rather beautifuly. I don't find it bleak either. I'm glad after a long wait and not really being much into TCh this album sits well with me. It must be a bloody pain if your last great BOC album was Geogaddi...thats a long time ago.

well jeez, this album actually is way better sounding now that it's fall

I think the way i've been listening to helps as well - one lp side at a time, over the course of several days. It's like some sorta multi-chapter radio serial about the end of the world

Haha, this is how I usually listen too. It sinks in best if you give it breathing room.
