I suppose this friend of your friend prefers guys that listen to christian nu metal and have set their basements up as domination dungeons. When she says losers, she means not earning enough money. heh.

A rich IDM nerd? I've heard of examples of IDM-nerds with tanks and bank vaults. And with entire collections of vintage hardware. Apart from having beards, that is.

I suspect the poor IDM-nerd to be locked in basements, btw. Let's face it: studios and basements are all alike. The natural habitat of the musician, is the studio.... I mean, basement.
