watmm users being retards i assume. it's a shame, as this forum desperately needs some decent discussions

And one of the threads is from 2011. We should broaden our musical horizons a little. There's new music popping up all over this planet, it's hard to locate though. I thought that there'd be some wisenheimers that would illuminate us all.

We did have a brazil thread for a little bit, that had a couple of wicked tracks in it.

i wasn't either. Just something different isn't it. And certainly a different groove to US hip/hop. Most of which isn't some magnetic paradigm, but rather self referencial dross. You rummage around enough though, and you find something intresting. And like a garage sale, you might think that you want it, because in relation to the bleek background noise it stands out. But then you get home and wonder why you have a 60's plastic lampshade on your kitchen table.

heh.

@ paranerd, ivan is occassionally terrible. Some ancestor must have cross bred with a troll.

Stockhausen On Aphex Twin:

I heard the piece Aphex Twin of Richard James carefully: I think it would be very helpful if he listens to my work Song Of The Youth, which is electronic music, and a young boy’s voice singing with himself. Because he would then immediately stop with all these post-African repetitions, and he would look for changing tempi and changing rhythms, and he would not allow to repeat any rhythm if it were varied to some extent and if it did not have a direction in its sequence of variations.

There's no shame in expressing interest in music and culture from other continents. Although WATMM's demographic is predominantly Western, that doesn't mean we have to confine our interests to only Europe and North America.

To keep it real and analog, I'm gonna start posting to WATMM by writing my posts in fountain pen on hemp paper, putting them in bottles, and throwing them into the ocean.
