Thr!!!er is a pretty good album for the most part.

Warp just signed Limey Suryc, the pseudonym of an anonymous idm producer that's trending right now. What we only know from this person is that she likes to do a thing called "twerk".

My opinion is Warp are having a renaissance at the moment.....and the pendulum is beginning to swing back in their direction.

Warp has to stay afloat in a dying industry. It's just hilarious that THAT song is considered part of some kind of solution.

i friggin love flying lotus, africa hitech and hudson mohawk as their more later signings

there are many golden records by other people 2 of course on warp, muddlin gear by jamie lidell for example

the weirdest records on warp are the best that's for sure

When Warp put up samples of !!! first release, it was actually kind of good. I was into it for a bit. Around 2001? 2000-ish. It was like... disto-rock or someshit. But this track is..... ghey...ish.

This song isn't that bad... Not great, but certainly not terrible.

Warp will always maintain their legacy aesthetic for the hardcore audience, but that doesn't translate into enough $ to keep a label afloat. Other labels have stuck to their IDM guns and failed (Sublight, Merck, Benbecula to name a few) so Warp is just dipping its toes into some new genres to expand its audience and ultimately turn a profit which is not easy these days: from what I can tell it appears to be working out for them.

Broadcast, especially Haha Sound and Tender Buttons. My very fav Warp artists along Aphex and SP.

Yah, the song itself is pretty good. I guess just the video makes it ghey. Or like, more like actually homo-erotic or something. The fuck is up with the video.

I bet there's people here saying !!! is crap but they listen italodisco. Not that italodisco is crap, but it's not any better or worse than !!!'s style.

Italo Disco is objectively better than most everything.

Thing with !!! is that when they signed to warp they were a bit more of an interesting proposition. The first few records they released weren't too bad in places. They've just got worse as time went on, I think the singer sounds like he's 'taken over' and he was always the weakest part IMO.

Thing is, for every band that fails to come up with the goods for them (born ruffians especially), they did also get grizzly bear, who probably sell more than the rest of the roster combined at the moment. If that means they can throw a bit of money at the new oneohtrix record then all the better. Plus I quite like grizzly bear.
