the time i lived with my dad

autechre story: i was at the untitled show in seattle and they were playing in the dark behind a big plank or something so noone could see them play but the venue had a 2nd story with a little spot I found that totally overlooked the stage and sean and rob crawling on their hands and knees playing with their gear

i brought my friends to my secret spot and we all just stared down at autechre and them randomly shooting us annoyed glances

then i thought security saw me smoking a joint so i wandered off and poured ice water down a guys pants because he asked me too (and he really regretted it right afterwards)

the last time that happened was probably driving around in florida during a storm to Perlence Subrange 3.

I was driving through some narrow, windy roads in the woods, overlooking a large lake. I was listening to Rough Sleeper by Burial when what appeared to be an albino coyote trotted across the street. I believe the IDM gods where present at that moment.

The time I went to my first ae gig, chatted with Rob, then left before they started because I had to catch the last train home.

Probably when I supported Clark last year, played to an empty room and then got blackout/vomit drunk on generously mixed Hendrick's G&Ts that he poured for me from his rider, missing everyone's sets as a result.

Runner up was meeting Ed DMX at his show in Sydney many years ago and handing him a copy of my first Pselodux album.

ha oh dude, you had to be a video game badass to get that far in that game, like without the cheat codes or anything. so intense. and that world was the hardest part. i think a few times i fought my way through that game to that point only to lose all my sonics

probably not quite as idm as when you pick the 3rd, hardest path on star fox snes, and get to andross and you've already seen him before, beat that crazy face spitting out those rectangular domino shaped blocks at you, but had no idea that this time he was going to come back shaped like a demon shooting fireballs out of his eyes.

now THAT was fucking intense, and you had to actually be like a star pilot ninja to witness it. totally idm

I finally caught him for the Ufabulum set, which was awesome in its own right. But I would love for some proper rave, with classic squarepusher material live. Even just an encore's worth; the show I saw had a light-tracking-bass-wankery encore
