Flo Rida invents possibly the worst thing ever

The Roland thing is pretty cool, though. I used to use it on my MC-505 to get some awesome melodies, that I wouldn't have otherwise even imagined.

Bill Bailey has been using something like that in his live shows for years, just tried searching for a clip, im sure ive got it on a DVD somewhere at home.

Yeah it's the Theramin. They've been used for years. The Day The Earth Stood Still for example.

Yeah, but this device seems to be a bunch of simple on off switches, triggered by light, no reading of proximity or height, you can't compare that to a theremin.

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

The thermin and ondes martenot are real, incredibly difficult, microtonal instruments.

This thing obviously just triggers events and probably makes sure that the key/pitch/sig are uniform no matter where your hands are. But it's barely any more offensive than the current state of pop music/ pop talent. Music for the guitar hero generation.

That's a theremin. They've been around since early 1900. I saw a doc about them, pretty cool.

This is just seems to be a photocell linked up to loops. They're not even good loops.

Is it compatible with DubTurbo? (let's see who gets that jab)

Hey, don't diss DubTurbo, a PROFESSIONAL DJ for over TWO YEARS recommended it to me.

Uh, didn't we take the piss out of something similar a few years ago? And LUDD (I think) uploaded a dubbed version with Tuss tracks or something?

Yeah I remember sharper image or skymall or something had gimmicky light harps like this back in the 90s.

Promoting it as an educational tool is the really bs part. A keyboard is just as fun to goof with, will play sound effects etc, and offers more than FOUR notes/sounds at a time. This isn't even as cool as a stylophone ffs

can we stop it with laser already, it was cool during your early teens when you used it to point at your teacher's asshole, its not cool technology its boring, its not the future allrught?

a man once left a cardboard tube on my front door and it had a rolled up piece of trippy looking foil that kinda looked like a novelty poster so put it on the wall and years go by when one day my little cousin is using a laser pointer to play with the cat and he shines it over the foil poster and to our amazement a 3D model plans to a space ship projected onto the wall and now we are building it in the garage. its really good for male bonding.
