if friendly aliens show up, is the plan to have a welcoming banquet and then laugh at them when they drink directly from the water jug?

Imagine this probe safely lands on a distant planet and they completely understand it, but their government is truly corrupt and burns it moments later.

instead of burning it, imagine that alien race travels at speeds that warp space time and arrive at earth long before the humans sent out voyager. they then begin to create a weird human hybrid that will create the voyager.

dont find the prospect of these pictures being seen billions of light years away TOO mindblowing guys. because it's pretty much an infinitesimally small chance of that ever happening. and i wouldn't worry about them not being warned about us having nukes either. if they have tech to spot a tiny metal thimble within the overwhelmingly vast void of space, i'm sure they are probably covered. our nukes would prob be a joke compared to their weapons. btw people sound like idiots when they just automatically assume that aliens will be 100% peaceful and incapable of violence. the same evolutionary processes that made us will most likely be what made them, or at least very similar. i know hollywood liberals love to use peaceful tree hugging aliens as a vehicle to do social commentary on the human race, but the idea is kind of a joke. even if they were peaceful it would most likely be due to having evolved beyond wars, which would still mean that they had war in their past history. and unless they were total idiots they would still have to have hardcore defense mechanisms in their spacecraft, and yes that would also include offensive capabilities, since 'the best defense is a good offense'. so in the almost infinitely small chance that an alien race finds that thing, they will probably be locked and loaded to the hilt. think about how utterly stupid/moronic you would have to be to go galavanting around in space with absolutely no weapons.

not that im saying anyone here really touched on the 'completely pacifist, above all violence' hollywood alien concept, i'm just expressing my opinion, that in the super small chance this thing is found by some alien race, that alien race will very possibly have weapons capable of easily obliterating us like we never existed.

Maybe more likely than aliens finding voyager, is us finding it in a far future when we've evolved to be radically different physically and we will think the contents of the pictures are of an alien race and in searching for them we will destroy ourselves.

The idea that a space-faring species is peaceful exists because there has never been a civilization on the planet that thrives on war and survives. It either changes its focus away from conquering or crumbles. Again, that's just a theory, and it's hard to prove since we're still developing as a species, but it has a lot of validity.

Even Stephen Hawking said "If we can avoid disaster for the next two centuries, our species should be safe, as we spread into space."
