List Films You've Watched More Than Once

Recommended Posts

there r obviously films that require multiply viewings for one reason or another and this usually is a sign of their quality or would mean that it is a film that u would recommend or is special to u. so plees, when u find the time, here or there; if u would be so kind as to post the names of films you've watched more then one time and if you can recall, then post the number of times.

Err can't remember last one but I've seen Memento over 100 times.

(and I still don't have an intuitive grasp of the chronology)

i mean, that's a great film, but seriously?

When I was young my brother and I made a point to watch Toy Story as many times as possible. I think we got to around 20 viewings. More recent multiple viewing would be There Will be Blood which I've probably seen 10-15 times. It seriously is just as good every time too. I've also watched Gangs of New York quite a few times. It used to be my go to movie when I was making long drives in my car for work. So maybe around 10-15 times with that one as well. Probably next in the list would be Dune and Blade Runner. I can watch those movies at any time and be completely happy about it.

It was extremely emotionally-relevant to me at a certain time in my life.

Also Blade Runner (50ish times) and Noah Baumbach's Kicking and Screaming (20ish). That airplane scene at the end is probably my favorite scene of any movie of all time. Such emotional and existential resonance (for me, at least).

Noah Baumbach is such a master of that stuff. I just wish he hadn't consorted with Wes Anderson because now he sometimes gets lumped in with that scene. Bleck.

off the top of my head:

toy story (15+)

alladin (10?)

empire strikes back (10?)

blade runner (15+)

jerry maguire (15+)

akira (18+)

I've probably seen most David Lynch films more than once, you almost have to.

Oh, and The Labrinyth, because that just gets better every time. :)

bladerunner - 12x at least

star wars - 20x ?

training day - 5x

the matrix - 8x

seven - 10x maybe

the usual suspects - 6x

fightclub - 12x maybe

they live - 7x maybe

netwerk - 4x

metropolis - 5x maybe

amadeus - 10x maybe

amelie - 10x at least

brazil - 4x

time bandits - 6 or 7x

the departed - 5x

casino - 7x at least

raging bull - 3x

goodfellas - 8x maybe

buffalo 66 - 5x

night on earth - 7x maybe

taxi driver - 4x

12 monkeys - 5x or more

alien - 11x maybe

dumb & dumber - 5x at least

there's something about merry - 6x

mad max beyond thunderdome - 5 or 6x

adaptation - 7x

being john malkovich - 6 or 7x

legend - 10x probably

dune - 8x

lost highway - 10x

wild at heart - 8x maybe

fargo - 5x at least

right, i've watched that one only once i think.

the squid and the whale - 4x

greenberg - 3x

bad taste .. over twenty times in one week because everyone had to have a favourite film and thats not really my thing .. but still i thought 'right, if i have to have a favourite film i'll bloody well do it properly' .. heh .. waste of time sure (cones made it easier) .. but then whenever quizzed about it i could say 'bad taste, i've seen it over 20 times, howzat muthafkr, favourite enough for ya?' ...

Of course this bled into the favourite director question. So when peter jackson was announced as the director of the lord of the rings i was pleased at this choice. The trilogy was a nice cgstraviganza .. but the choice of score .. argh that msin recurring theme my god what a feral disaster. Then i viewed the first hobbit film, and whilst i think jackson is a fine chap, i tire of his directing.

That is a good one! The stuntwork in that one is great. Love the aerial scenes. 9/10 butt plugs.

Well I'm not going to list movies I've seen several times (Sorry Troon), mostly because I don't re-watch movies. Most of the fun is gone for me if I know exactly what is going to happen next.

I don't understand the fun in watching a movie when you know exactly what's about to happen... =(

I am astounded that nobody said Jurassic Park yet.

I've seen Jurassic Park so fucking often.

When it came out on VHS there were times when I watched it more than once a day.

One time when I wanted to watch it I had forgotten to rewind the tape, so I watched it in reverse. Then watched in in "normal" mode.
