Well I'm not going to list movies I've seen several times (Sorry Troon), mostly because I don't re-watch movies. Most of the fun is gone for me if I know exactly what is going to happen next.

I don't understand the fun in watching a movie when you know exactly what's about to happen... =(

same here .. what is the point

agree, up to a point.

99 per cent of films I watch once, and thats it. Even my favorite films of all time I watch with about a 4 year gap. I don't spend much time watching movies really.

the exception is Point Break (don't ask why lol) I've probably watched that about 25 times, Alien and The Shining would be second at about 12 times. In fact I watched Point Break a few nights ago as it was on telly, I've never got bored of it for some odd reason. (I think I want to be Body heheh)

i remember watching that film at the cinema .. then coming home in the mid evening darkness the first thing i did was go down the beach .. and with the sea breeze in my ears and the waves rolling in .. i picked some driftwood from between the rocks that divide two beaches .. it was kind of like a staff. and started doing slow and deliberate self made martial arts moves with it .. this was definately not my usual operating procedure .. so id say that that film made some kind of perhaps empowering impressions upon me ..

perhaps i should watch it again .. has been a couple of decades now ..

yeah i know . sorry for being a lame kid .. heh .. i usually have a terrible memory .. but that event has stuck with me .. so pardon the way it was clumsly written.

Oh my god The Rutles!

I had the DVD and watched it a bunch until I decided to give it to my 6-year-old sister because she's obsessed with the Beatles and I thought giving her The Rutles and having her see bizarro versions of the band she loved most in the world would be like giving her a tab of acid (except of course without the whole me-going-to-jail-for-child-endangerment part).

Until I was 13 or 14 I was far, far more familiar with the Rutles than the Beatles. As a little kid I was only familiar with Beatles hits everyone. My aunt was a big fan of both the Beatles and Monty Python and Terry Gilliam (Time Bandits is another film I watch over and over again) so naturally she had the Rutles on VHS. I have both the PAL version and a later DVD copy and watch both enough to note a few deleted scenes from each version and different song cues.

The thing about The Rutles is you have to be a huge Beatles fan to really appreciate it. Once I revisited the Beatles and truly dove into the history of the band and music journalism of that era, it corresponded with me finding layers and layers of humor within the movie. Niel Innes in particular nails the role of Ron Nasty (Lennon's spoof).

The songs are are as much homages as they are parodies. If you're a Beatles fanboy the movie goes from being as good if not better than This is Spinal Tap, which is a masterpiece. Your sister will love it. Maybe wait a few years. It has a few extremely British (therefore practically harmless) sex jokes but most of them flew by my head when I was a kid. There's plenty of videos of just the songs on YT anyway.
