Well there does seem to be something afoot where certain rights of digitals are reverting back to the artists. Between AP, EOD, and Dave Monolith (upcoming) offering tracks up for DL. And the Ceephax LPs are up on his page as well, right?

 

Hopefully that doesn’t mean Rephlex is closing down, just morphing into something new.

Well the way they are we may never find out. Mid life garage clear out, on to other things. It is a big responsibility running a label, these artists rely on you to promote them. Maybe they feel that this wasn't happening in the way they originally intended, things just got put aside, left till later, then a moment of clarity and they decided to pull the pin for the benefit of everyone. For the artists in these days of bandcamp and with the rephlex halo behind them, it can't be that bad of a thing. It is easier drumming up press when you've got a new release on a renowned label, i can see that, but well everyone will self release or release as a member of a collective eventually.

that would actually be pretty cool... if it changed with the times... to reflect what makes sense in the music industry now, with a new overhaul, new state of mind, and new fresh releases.

It was a project started by someone here I think. It'll change design if/when it does come out though (N.B. the spectral shots of the Warp released Windowlicker)
