Omni Trio made some great tracks, like "Trippin' On Broken Beats".

But one of my all time favorites is "The Western" by PFM. Approximately 10 minutes of pure bliss, layer upon layer. Just so good. Not the darkest of tracks, but (for me at least) it comes with an otherworldly atmosphere that transports me straight back to circa 1996.
