Would you leave your country and why?

Would you try to go live to some other country? Which one? And why? Report the country (or state) you live in.

On my part, I'd rather not move from italy but I think I should cos I feel like people here just enjoys eating and chatting and they rely too much on who they know instead of what they know. I think that anywhere northern than here should be better. I would miss the weather tho.

Yeah my country (Australia) is moving backwards now with our new PM and I'm half entertaining the idea of jumping ship. I'm traveling in a few months but my girlfriend lives in Mexico and I can't imagine it's a lot better over there!

i couldn't ever as i would never leave my mother (especially as she gets older). however i'd like to spend more time in New York and Rome.

I'd take something absolutely significant in terms of affecting my personal life to move. It is likely I will move out into the country though next year, somewhere in West Texas or East NM: for lower cost-of-living, a bit of a mental break from a city, and more money doing more flexible work. Bit stir-crazy in my office job at the moment.

I'd never move out of UK. Family being one reason, another being I can't afford a plane ticket.

Yes, I would move to Canada or Germany.

If I left again, it wouldn't be to seek asylum so much as it would opportunity. Last time I left was to Japan in 2008 for an overseas university study in Hokkaido.

I've lived in Alaska for over 13 years now, and I think it's silly that it's still a US satellite state. It's big and remote enough to be its own country. Makes more geographical sense that way.

I've been there many times, and am heading down again in early December. I might move there one day, but I dunno for sure yet.

I've always had a really good impression about Alaska and it's overall society and government, seems like law enforcement is seemingly reasonable there for example: I've watched that NatGeo show about their State Troopers and was amazed that they actually let people off with tickets and used restraint far more than most cops do elsewhere in terms of conduct and attitude.

I wouldn't be shocked if they or Hawaii ever broke off. Their strategic value militarily probably made them states above anything else. In fact, even now the term CONUS is used to classify "domestic" military bases and that excludes Alaska and Hawaii.

People all over the world rely on who they know.

As for the question, yes with no hesitation. Japan or Korea, maybe somewhere in Europe.

My korean friends always asked me if I missed my family and I always said "not really". A phone call or email plus occasional visits gives enough contact for me.

I've never had any scrapes with the law here. It seems like they're stretched thin at times though. The State Troopers occasionally have to patrol some of the harsher regions, particularly if there's illegal hunting or missing persons. They probably get sent to rural villages too, but I've never been to any of them. Alcoholism and teen suicides are problematic in some of them I understand, especially during the dark winters. Either way, law enforcement here seems more level-headed than those in metropolitan areas like NYC.

The joint army-air force base where I work certainly had strategic value in WWII. I'm pretty sure the building I work in was constructed in the 1940s, since it was originally an aircraft hangar. The Japanese invaded Attu Island during that time too, at the far west of the Aleutian island chain. I don't think it's a coincidence that Shemya air base was set up in that area around the same time.

i love England, all my family are here and its a pretty sound place to live. Some of my friends have jumped ship to Oz and nz and they all seem to love it, but my heart is here in the cotswolds.

Currently live an isolated life in a beautiful place out in the country. Don't ever plan on leaving. Hated growing up in the city. Went to school in Oregon and loved it. Spent a few months in Norway and could definitely live there. Probably could live anywhere out in the country as long as i could farm.

I'd like to try living in a forest and living of the land, building a log cabin etc. I'd probably die within a week or so.

Canada is nice but the "you could freeze to death if you spent a night outdoors 6 months of the year" thing puts a bit of a damper on many of the more bohemian lifestyle choices I've entertained.

honestly it wouldnt take much for me. fuck family, fuck friends, all it would take is a well paying job. America fucking sucks. everything here sucks: the government, the people, i just hate it.

Amsterdam is nice. If I had a lot of money I'd consider living there for a bit. It's just very clean and pretty
