I think on the whole it needs more compositional movement (build, release, chaos, contrast) and a more acute vibe (maybe adding melodies/harmonies/basslines to evoke this) - by acute vibe I mean for example trippy, stressy, violent, exuberant, evil etc. (not limited to one word, but just to give you a sense of what I mean) - focus on a vibe and do everything you can to bring it out. The vocal sample isn't doing anything in my opinion - I would record your own voice saying something imaginative connecting to the feeling you want and then fuck with it to fit the vibe

The beats, the synth stabs, the didge sounding synth, the deep bass sound all excellent - maybe do something to make the beat a bit more driving (maybe EQ on the kick/snare, maybe adding other rhythmic elements, maybe unquantising a little bit or moving certain things slightly behind/ahead of the beat)

The siren feels a bit cliched and simple - maybe add effects or try to recreate and mix your version in, maybe alter the pitch rhythm more musically

"Whoa! Check it out! RO-BIGH-DUHS!"

sigh.. "That's Ribena.."

I appreciate the feedback hoggy, but I have already settled on a vibe which is haunted/chased urban. The vocals can be replaced, yeah. Not sure if there's much more to gain from EQ-ing, perhaps if I listen to it on more systems I can get a better feel for how it sounds around the place. The beats are already really unquantized as I do everything here by slicing wave files and lining them up with the grid only as I see fit. If I add a more melodic element early in the track it will kill the droning sound that I want it to have. Unless I make it a very short techno-esque sequence perhaps.

I really think you should wrack your brain/use your imagination on how to make that vibe as ACUTE as possible then (think of different musical ways to make someone FEEL it - don't just refer to it with samples)

Actually no I've changed my mind, please ignore all my advice, do what you think is best

I always ignore all advice, but I store them in the back of my head for my next project. Unless people are able to pinpoint specific faults I agree with. I mostly want to hear how people feel about the track not what they changes they personally think will make it better because I'm not going to change my style on demand :)
