The popular idea of "biological" = normal, good, ok

For instance, it is biological to only desire relationships with women who are attractive.

Or the flip side, it is biological for women to find narcissistic, douchey behavior attractive.

Biology has zero to do with ethics. Nothing.

The marketers haven't got the faintest fucking idea what love is, they're so far up their own assholes in shallow materialism its pretty much impossible. I only say this because I was the same way.

I really only just barely do, but its quite fucked up how our society at large thinks of these things. The problem of course comes down, like everything else, to stupidity and ignorance. Stupidity being biological, ignorance being a matter of current limits on human knowledge. For instance it is only recently we are beginning to understand the effect porn has on the individual and society at large.

(imo at this moment...) Pornography can be an incredibly useful tool for coping with stress, depression, self-doubt etc. This stems from the benefits of masturbation, with porn as simply another method/means of releasing tension.

However, the way that it is marketed now in the mainstream is ridiculous, offensive, and overall leads to the growing number of unstable and/or misogynistic individuals. The smaller niches are also causing harm, as they grow increasingly serious and widespread. A lot of these fetish communities acknowledge the strange and/or possibly damaging nature of the content they find arousing, but due to their desires and growing access to technologies for production and social distribution, simply fall into the same dry category of overproduced and often harmful trash. As with other cases of overproduced media, this trash becomes a normal part of the lives of whomever is consuming it.

(these are just passing thoughts - i am really into with this kind of thing, and have in the past done some research on mental health benefits of the "porn outlet" concept and how fetishism ties in with mental health. sexuality today is fucking fascinating, i love all the conflicting views just as much as i hate them).

i wonder if this is actually true though. I figure that japanese people, especially younger ones of the digital technology generation have much more niche and abstract sexual fetishes than a typical western society.
I always had this impression of japan that it was very hyper sexual almost like Idiocricy esque. I got lost in a rabbit hole one day of reading about all the different types of japanese whore houses and sex clubs. Anybody who lives in japan or is very familiar with it speak to this?
